Experts of wine know how smooth,

deep scarlet, rich, spicy scented,

fervent, dry or sweet, full of tannin

or even royal wines can be.

Some years are particularly outstanding.

Everything depends on the experience of the winemaker,

the quality of the grapes, the soil, the sunshine...

A great amplifier is like a great wine.

Just as the quality, the taste,

the value of a wine depends on several factors,

so is it with the sound of amplifiers.

And the many secrets it holds can only be revealed upon “tasting”.

Sound quality is a set of measurable parameters on the one hand, but at the same time it heavily depends on the taste of the listener. The temperature and the glass does make a difference when tasting wine—and so is it with amplifiers: testing and listening requires an excellent acoustic environment. Amplifiers will only yield their secrets with high quality speakers.

Different wines accompany different dishes—we recommend different amplifiers for your diverse purposes. We at HL Electronics are aware of the potential requirements of our customers, and we fully considered them when developing the amplifiers we supply. This is the key motivation behind our power amp series with 10 different models.

MOSFET

HL Electronics uses MOSFET technology to build MPA power amps. The reason for this choice is that FET’s produce more natural and richer sound compared to traditional transistor-based amplifiers, which is particularly perceptible in their intricate sound detail at higher frequency ranges. However, this claim only holds if the “environment” of the FET’s used is truly generous. We use toroidal transformers and much larger than usual buffer capacitors in our MPA amplifiers, which results in “overwhelming”, yet superbly realistic sound rendering across the entire spectrum.

Cooling

To reduce unnecessary noise, two fans with automatic control and three different speeds are used for MPA cooling. The fans rotate only when necessary and their speed is also adjusted to actual cooling requirements. In order to preserve the cleanliness of amplifier internals, the fans discharge air through large cooling blocks.

Protections

Our MPA amplifiers are equipped with all necessary protection features, including thermal protection; protection against DC, excessive current or voltage; and soft start. In addition to “traditional” protection functionality, MPA amps also have special systems built in. For example, the Soft Clipping function prevents highly distorted signals from leaving the amp and reaching the sound boxes while maintaining peak performance levels. To protect your speakers even further, a custom developed solution is used with the preamp: when the incoming signal exceeds +12dB, the output level is reduced drastically. Thus the MPA does not allow high energy, distorted signals to damage your sound boxes.

Design

The stylish front panel features self-explanatory LED’s that inform users about operation details.

The back plane of the amplifier has a fully ergonomic design.

Connectors are arranged in a logical order

We use high quality Neutrik connectors for our MPA amplifiers.
